The Senate was on Tuesday forced to adjourn its sittings due to faulty microphones in the chamber.
After waiting for 15 minutes, the Deputy President of the Senate Honourable Michael Nyambuya decided to adjourn the House to Wednesday.
‘’Good afternoon Honourable Members, I am afraid we have to wait and see whether our ICT will be able to fix the problem affecting our microphones. So, we have to wait and pray that they will be able to fix whatever problem it is,’’ he said.
After waiting for 15 minutes for the technical problem to be solved, Honourable Nyambuya adjourned the House.
‘’The Hansard cannot record due to faulty microphones, so we have to adjourn the House,’’ he said.
The House which had gathered at 14:30 hours adjourned at 14:45 hours without putting any question in terms of Standing Order Number 208.
The Chinese built the new Parliament located in Mount Hampden for the people of Zimbabwe. It is unclear whether the same Chinese were responsible for installing the sound system.
