A total of 203.3 million kilograms of tobacco had been sold as of 20 June 2024 at an average price of US$3.46/kg this season, representing a 24.7% decrease in sales volume compared to the same period in 2023, when 270 million kilograms were sold at an average price of US$3.01/kg. The price of tobacco at auction floors increased by 25%, from US$2.89/kg in 2023 to US$3.61/kg in 2024.
