#ElectionsZW: It’s your vote which brings change says Susan Matsunga
Citizens Coalition for Change candidate for Mufakose Constituency Susan Matsunga has urged women to participate in elections adding that their votes are important in bringing the change they desire.
Matsunga who was recalled by MDC-T which is led by Douglas Mwonzora said women suffer the most from misgovernance.
She said women in her party can change things if voted into power, as they fully understand the causes of suffering in Zimbabwe.
‘’Your vote is important because we want change in Zimbabwe. For example, women are the ones who face many problems especially at home, there is massive load shedding, there are no jobs, there is suffering all the way and there is also starvation, but we as women in Citizens Coalition for Change, we can deliver, we can change,’’ she said.
Zanu PF to blame for problems in Mufakose
The die-hard Nelson Chamisa loyalist added that problems in Mufakose are not because of the city council but are a result of Zanu PF meddling in council affairs.
‘’All the problems in Mufakose are not because of the city council, it’s because of Zanu PF, especially July Moyo. If those in Zanu PF think they are better than us because they are seeing uncollected garbage, what about unemployment? Is it the council that is causing unemployment as well?
‘’Youths are taking drugs, what does that have got to do with uncollected garbage? Drugs have everything to do with poor governance.
‘’So, I am saying if you vote for a Citizens Coalition for Change candidates, things will change,’’ she said.
By-elections for both National Assembly and local authority vacant seats will be held on the 26th of March this year.
There are over 20 Parliamentary seats and about 115 local authority seats that are up for grabs mostly in Harare due to MDC and Zanu PF factional fights. A few other seats are a result of the death of some legislators and councillors.
