#ElectionsZW: I am confident of winning the Kuwadzana seat says Betty Kaseke
Zanu PF candidate for Kuwadzana Constituency Betty Nhambu Kaseke says she is confident of victory in the impending by-elections.
Kaseke who once held the seat and lost in the 2018 general elections says the projects, they have done in Kuwadzana guarantee her victory.
Speaking at the nomination court Kaseke said ‘’I am going to represent my party Zanu PF, on the 26th of March and I am very confident that we are going to win this seat because of the work that we have done on the ground.
‘’We have done a lot for the youths, a lot for the women, and a lot for the vulnerable and orphans that we have in our constituency,’’ she said.
Kaseke who is also the secretary for women affairs in the Zanu PF DCC3 said her party has many projects that will be implemented as soon as she wins.
‘’We are also working on the clinic projects, school, and tower lights that we want to work on as soon as we win the election.
‘’The one who was recalled was never on the ground, she was not assisting the community. As MP, you need to be working with the people.
‘’You have to work with the people. So that is one thing that makes me unique from the one who was recalled,’’ she said.
Kaseke will compete for the seat with Fatima Madamombe of MDC Alliance, Nesbert Mapfumo of United Democratic Alliance, and Johnson Matambo of Citizens Coalition for Change.
The by-elections will take place on the 26th of March in 22 Constituencies that became vacant following the recall of legislators by Zanu PF and MDC-T.
Other seats also became vacant following the death of legislators from various diseases including Covid-19.
By-elections took long to be conducted due to Covid-19 which saw the government imposing lockdown restrictions.
