Mashonaland West Senator Prisca Mupfumira has been appointed to lead the Parliamentary Thematic Committee on Climate Change.
Mupfumira who still has a pending case of alleged corruption at court, was at one time deemed to be mentally unstable to stand trial.
However, despite that decision by the court, Mupfumira has never stopped attending and participating in Senate activities, that include debate on laws, and committee meetings, as well as actively participating in politics.
