  • ‘’We want to tell those in government that we are also people, we have blood in our veins, and we feel the pain as well. The time for the people has arrived, the time for change has come,’’

Freezim Congress leader Joseph Makamba Busha has called on Zimbabweans to unite and work together against Zanu PF, which he says has brought much suffering in the country.

The call by Busha comes at a time when Zanu PF is working on trying to extent the term of office for President Emmerson Mnangagwa by adding two more years.

Mnangagwa is serving his second term having assumed power through a military assisted coup in 2017 and is expected to retire in 2028 according to the two-term policy currently in the constitution.

Busha said people must open their eyes and see who is causing their suffering and that they should not be adding that the time for change has come.

‘’Lets unite, lets work together, lets open our eyes and see who is responsible for our sufferings, who is making us suffer. In my party (Freezim Congress) we say life to the people, and wealth to the country.

‘’We want to tell those in government that we are also people, we have blood in our veins, and we feel the pain as well. The time for the people has arrived, the time for change has come,’’ he said.

The businessman-cum politician added that the problems in Zimbabwe are not from God, but are being caused by people in Zanu PF which is in power.

He said this has resulted in disintegration of families as people go out of the country to look for greener pastures.

‘’The problems in the country do not emanate from God or from heaven; they emanate from people, from Zanu PF. So you must know where your problems emanate from, and they are emanating from Zanu PF.

‘’Right now, families have disintegrated and are scattered around the world looking for opportunities, and those that remain home are even poorer; they cannot raise a mere US$5.’’

There are a lot of Zimbabweans who have gone into the diaspora to look for opportunities in the past 20 years. Random figures claim there is as much as two million Zimbabweans in the diaspora mainly in the United Kingdom, South Africa, Botswana, United States of Amera and Australia among others. Some have even attained citizenships of their hosts countries.

According to Busha, the policies that have been introduced by Zan PF that have resulted in people leaving should be classified as acts against humanity.

‘’Policies that have been enacted by Zanu PF amount to what we call acts against humanity because they are pushing young people out of the country in huge numbers, and we are bringing in the Chinese to abuse our people.’’
