Citizens Coalition For Change (CCC) Spokesperson Fadzayi Mahere, refuted claims that Zanu-PF has strongholds in specific regions, asserting that the party, which has been around for a year, would win the forthcoming harmonized elections.

After losing the legal battle over the party name to Douglas Mwonzora, Nelson Chamisa formed a new party.

Barely two months after formation CCC participated in one of the largest by elections held in Zimbabwe which was a response to recalls of elected officials MDC led by Douglas Mwonzora.

Mahere Addressing The Media

Speaking during a press conference in Harare last Wednesday, Mahere said no electoral jurisdictions belong to Zanu-PF and added that her party would win resoundingly.

“As the CCC we are not taking any voter or constituency for granted.

“We do not accept that there is a constituency that already belongs to Zanu-PF.

“We are going to make sure that we leave no stone unturned mobilizing and campaigning even in the deepest, furthest rural parts of Zimbabwe.

“We are going to make sure we mobilize in every street, every town, every village and province in Zimbabwe. This is something that started eight months ago, when President Nelson Chamisa launched the Mugwazo campaign.

Mugwazo is a nationwide campaign where the party is recruiting members and encouraging people to register to vote.

During the campaign members of the opposition political party were exposed to violence and intimidation.

Despite complaints of an uneven playing field, no access to an updated voters roll Mahere is certain her party will be triumphant in the upcoming plebiscite.

“Our goal is to win big this year and part of that goal includes ensuring that we have a landslide with the presidential election, a two thirds majority in parliament, clean sweeps in urban municipalities and also a majority in our rural district councils.

Currently, the ruling Zanu-PF holds a two thirds majority in parliament with the opposition dominating in urban local councils.

The upcoming elections set for August this year will determine the victorious party.
