ZITER has its own way of reaching peopleGiven an opportunity, we will win

Zimbabwe Industrial and Technological Revolution (ZITER) party president Daniel Chingoma says he is ready to contest in the 2023 general elections and will also give Zanu PF a hard run.

Chingoma, an inventor and musician highlighted that his support base has been growing over the years and has structures from national to the lower levels.

He also indicated that they have already lined-up candidates for Parliament and council.

‘’We want to contest; we want to give the ruling party a hard run. Competition is not for one person, it takes two or three people to have a competition. So they will not run on their own and say we have won.

‘’Zimbabwe is a democratic country, it’s a multiparty democracy, anyone who feels like contesting can contest. So we are going to be participating but there is a hindrance, the required to pay US$20 000 for Presidential candidates.

‘’We have national structures, we have provincial, district, and community structures, we have Cells and branches. We have many supporters, those that I know that are in our books are about 20 000,’’ he said.

ZITER has its own way of reaching people

When it comes to conducting rallies, Chingoma said his party does not conduct normal rallies for fear of violence and intimidation.

He said they have a way of reaching out to their support.

‘’In our system, we have lined up candidates for Parliament and council. We do not conduct rallies the same way as others, we have our own way of reaching to the public.

‘’It’s a private communication that we use to get to the people. What happens is that we don’t want to cause violence, public rallies result in chaos and violence so we have another way of mobilizing our community and supporters and we cannot share now,’’ said Chingoma.

Given an opportunity, we will win

The ZITER leader believes that if his party is not hindered from contesting in the 2023 general elections, they will win the polls.

He is promising Zimbabweans jobs, development, and improved living conditions.

‘’Zimbabweans want food, they want jobs, they want industries to be resuscitated. They also want democratic rule, development, and improved living conditions that is what we will do for them.

‘’We see ourselves winning if we are given an opportunity to participate. We will definitely win. I say if we are given an opportunity because they have imposed US$20 000 which is a hindrance,’’ he said.

In 2018 he failed to file his nomination papers because his photos were taken while he was wearing a cap
