#ElectionsZW: Chiposi goes yellow, says I have listened to the people
One of the losing candidates in the Kambuzuma Constituency by-election Fungai Chiposi says he has decided to listen to the people and is now a member of the Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC).
Chiposi was suspended by MDC-T for agreeing to an interview with OpenParly in which he highlighted why he thinks the party performed dismally.
The issues raised by Chiposi in the interview did not go down well with some people in MDC-T.
This resulted in Chiposi, being blocked from attending the National Council meeting, as well as being removed from official party WhatsApp groups.
Chiposi who is on record arguing that he believes in Douglas Mwonzora’s leadership, said he has been approached by various political parties to join them.
He said some of the parties include the ruling Zanu PF which expressed interest in working with him.
‘’A lot of people have been talking to me. I have had overtures from some people in Zanu PF, saying come on board we would like you to come and work with us. I have also been approached by people from Blessing Kasiyamhuru’s party (ZIPP), also been approached by Zapu.
‘’I have also been approached by somebody who is in America and they want to start their own thing and they think I should come on board.
‘’So, quite a couple of people have come on board, but I have also done a lot of listening on social media, in my community in Kambuzuma when I am walking, when I am meeting people and I am beginning to get a feel of what people are thinking especially with the constituency which is important because this is where I would like to go and stand again.
‘’The continuous noise is that you must go yellow, go yellow Fungai, so I have decided to become an ordinary card-carrying member of Citizens party which is led by (Nelson) Chamisa,” he said.
