ZACC arrests Wadyajena over US$5m fraud

The Zimbabwe Anti-Corruption Commission (ZACC) has announced that it has effected the arrest of Gokwe-Nembudziya legislator Justice Mayor Wadyajena.

Wadyajena was arrested in connection with a US$5 million fraud together with his co-accused people.

In a statement, ZACC said Wadyajena and his co-accused are expected to appear at court today.

‘’The Zimbabwe Anti-Corruption Commission has arrested Gokwe-Nembudziya legislator Justice Mayor Wadyajena, Cottco officials Pius Manamike, Maxmore Njanji, and Fortune Molai, and Pierpont Moncroix director Chiedza Danha on fraud and money laundering charges involving US$5 million.

‘’The accused persons are expected in court tomorrow (today 17 August 2022),’’ read the statement from ZACC).

Wadyajena has been vocal in trying to fight corruption through the Parliamentary Portfolio on Agriculture.
