If you don’t vote for me in 2023, you are a laggard says Munyanduri
New Patriotic Front (NPF) leader Peter Munyanduri says those that will not vote for him or his political party in 2023 are laggards and need voter education.
A laggard is someone who lags in adopting newly developed elements later than the rest of the population
Munyanduri is not new to controversy. In 2028 general elections he promised the electorate bacon, milk, and eggs at every breakfast if they vote for him.
The self-styled politician was recently kicked out of the Political Actors Dialogue (POLAD) for claiming that the 26 March by-elections were rigged in favour of Zanu PF.
He also lost the POLAD Isuzu D Max vehicle in the process.
Writing in his media group, Munyanduri said most voters are victims of false election manifestos and fake propaganda.
‘’People who will not voter for Munyanduri and NPF in 2023 are democratically illiterate and need voter education. These people do not know what it exactly takes to make Zimbabwe great.
‘’They are victims of false elections manifestos and false propaganda. Munyanduri is definitely the most educated Presidential candidate in Zimbabwe with enormous capacity to improve the economic fortunes of Zimbabweans,’’ he said.
Lets focus on voter registration
The politician said it was time to encourage people to register to vote.
He said those that will vote for him are innovators who need to be applauded.
‘’Let’s all please engage in voter education. People who vote for Munyanduri and NPF are called innovators and need to be proud of themselves. Those who vote for parties that appear on first pages of newspapers are called laggards in marketing and need to be ashamed of themselves,’’ he said.
Munyanduri’s party participated in the by-elections and performed badly on all the seats they were contesting. The party had fielded candidates for Parliament and council. Zimbabwe has seen the sprouting of many political parties ahead of the 2023 general elections that are slated for between July and August.
